Cincinnati attorney and University of Kentucky College of Law Graduate J. David Rosenberg is donating $20 million to the law school. The gift from Rosenberg and his wife, Diane, represents the third largest single donation in school history. College of Law Interim Dean Mary Davis said these dollars will carry a big impact.
“It does not require that we admit a particular student. It doesn’t require that we hire a particular faculty person in a particular subject. David Rosenberg’s gift is core to the function of the law school and it does not come with those kinds of strings,” said Davis.
Davis said the Rosenberg endowment will provide for annual merit scholarships and help attract and retain faculty members. The law school dean predicts the gift will propel the school “into the future in an amazing way.”
