Mentoring Program Considered By Lexington Schools

The head of Lexington’s public school system was recognized by Mayor Jim Gray during his “State of the City”

address last week. Superintendent Manny Caulk said he building up young people comes within and outside the school walls and that includes strengthening families. 

“We understand building up our families, some of our families that are in crisis, some of the neighborhoods in distress.  And, it’s a concerted effort to do that, ” he said.

Caulk said consideration a new mentoring initiative is being considered.  He said it could involve community members, faith based businesses, and retirees.
