The Eastern Kentucky University men’s basketball team kept its perfect home record intact with a win over Manhattan Tuesday. It came in part because of a quick Colonel start to the game.
Eastern jumped out to an 18 zero lead over Manhattan in McBrayer Arena. Manhattan pulled within 13 points in the second half before the Colonels responded with a run of their own to win the game 76 to 64. EKU held the Jaspers to 24 percent shooting from the field and forced 16 turnovers. Colonel forward Jarelle Reischel led the way with 26 points. Now, Eastern Kentucky begins conference play, going up against Austin Peay in Clarksville Tennessee this Saturday.
