Earlier this month 37 year old Austin Eubanks was the keynote speaker at Kentucky’s second annual Harm Reduction Summit in Northern Kentucky where officials addressed substance abuse prevention and recovery.
According to Harm Reduction International, there is no universally accepted definition of harm reduction. The HRI website says harm reduction refers to policies, programs and practices that aim to minimize negative health, social and legal impacts associated with drug use, drug policies and drug laws.
WEKU’s Cheri Lawson talked with Eubanks about his message at the Summit. Eubanks was one of the students injured in the 1999 Columbine High School shooting. April 20th marks the 20th anniversary of the Columbine shooting.
