Lexington Council Gets 'On the Table' Results

In mid-March, more than 10,000 Lexington area residents participated in a kind of “sound off” event. 

Last week members of a Lexington council committee got an overview of “On the Table” comments.

Lexington's 5-year Comprehensive Plan is due for updating in 2018. Today, Tom Martin talks with Jim Duncan, director of Lexington’s Division of Planning and in charge of leading an update process that has included a series of public meetings - among them the Blue Grass Community Foundation's "On the Table" event that gathered more than 11,000 citizens at locations around the city for a day of discussions.

Lexington area citizens gathered Wednesday for community discussions in the city’s first “On the Table” event. They gathered in community centers, coffee shops, houses of worship and other venues to talk about issues affecting quality of life in the city.    

Focus On Business: Lisa Adkins on "On The Table"

On Wednesday, March 15th Lexington will be abuzz with hosted conversations all around the city - people talking about quality of life in Lexington. It’s a one-day event called “On the Table” being organized by the Blue Grass Community Foundation. The hope is that scores of people will sign-on to host small group discussions over breakfast, lunch, dinner, at workplaces, and other locations, throughout the day.
