Representatives from several public safety agencies gathered for the first of a series of meetings in preparation for President Trump’s visit to Richmond this weekend.
Assistant Police Chief Rodney Richardson says the whole department will be out in full force Saturday. He urges patience for people coming in for the rally or those trying to maneuver through Richmond. “Just be patient with us, we’ll have officers on traffic posts for most of the day to keep traffic from backing up on the interstate and then traffic coming in on all the exits of Richmond. We expect to be a little overloaded, but just be patient and we’ll get you where you need to go,” said Richardson.
In addition to moving vehicles around the Madison County community, Richardson says police will also be working to direct foot traffic around Alumni Coliseum, the site of the evening rally.
