An early morning fire in northern Garrard County has done significant damage to a long time log furniture manufacturer.
County Emergency Management Services Director Tim May says a building used to cut wood and a nearby paint shop at Rocky Top Log Furniture and Railing were destroyed. “They have a lot of sawdust and things of that nature and their sawdust bin, for whatever reason, exploded, burst into flames and caught one of their main buildings in the back on fire,” said May.
May says there were no injuries in the fire. The EMS director says fire crews from Garrard, Jessamine, and Boyle Counties all responded to the fire scene at the business located along Pine Crest Road.
