LexKy Health Dept. @LFCHD tweeted, “Thx to @889WEKU's Stu Johnson for talking community #health w/ @P4YLex's Larry Johnson this morning.” That was on June 27th by the way and we’ve posted the picture posted with that tweet with this week’s Feedback on WEKU dot FM.
Last week’s Eastern Standard show with Dr. Michael Cairo, of Transylvania University brought a nice email from Prof. Richard Cahill, of Berea College, offering his services for a future discussion of Islam. We will be taking him up on his offer in a show either late this summer or early fall.
From the Listener Comment Line: (Anonymous woman’s voice) “I’m a little tired of you’re not being able to have any broadcast. Please try to work on that. I just miss my programs so much. I keep the radio set on that, 102.1.”
On a similar note, an email from listener Joe, “Frequently when I tune in there is just dead air, no signal. Poor reception in east Lexington. Otherwise nice music.” Joe went on to say that he has heard frequent outages during weekday morning hours when he is on the way to work. We had a similar comment from Audrey.
What I can tell you is that we are working on getting in place a system that will notify us when any of our stations go silent. Until then, I continue to offer my personal cell phone number so you can let me know when you hear a problem on any of our transmitters. I’ll post that number once again with this week’s Feedback on the WEKU website.
NOTE: As promised, here is the number - 859-248-0343.
As you can understand, I may not answer if I don't recognize your number. Just leave a message and I will take whatever correction I can. An even more efficient approach would be to send a text to that same number.
We’re interested in your feedback. Send an email to: WEKU (at) EKU (dot) EDU, post on Facebook or send a tweet @889weku. Or leave a message on the Listener Comment Line at 859-622-1657. Our postal mailing address is: Perkins 102, Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond, KY 40475.
Be sure to tune in next Monday at 6:33 or 8:49 am or 5:33 pm for Listener Feedback on WEKU.
